Would We Be Killed?

The American Indians were marginalized by white men from the U.S for a very long time. "Then came the white men's diseases, smallpox, tuberculosis, measles, which wiped out entire villages. Finally came the soldiers with guns and cannons, and the endless wars that left both Native Americans and white men dead in the prairie grass." This made the Native Americans have a low population. Then, the white people try brainwashing the young American Indians by Captain Henry Pratt. "Ultimately, though, the chiefs agreed that the beast hope for their people was education. So they gathered up 84 children, including Ota Kte, and sent them east with Pratt. But Pratt hadn't told the chiefs everything. It was not Pratt's plan to simply educate these children and teach them english. He also planned to 'Civilize' them to strip them of their traditions and ways of life." The white men educated the children to become more of them instead of following their tradition. This made the American Indians to be marginalized for a very long time.

Luther Standing Bear and Shanice Britton are both similar and different in each way. Shanice is American Indian but she wears normal everyday teenager clothes like jeans and shirts. No one brainwashed her because of her religion. She goes to college at the University of California. On the other hand, Luther Standing Bear was sent to go to school to be educated, but he wasn't educated, the white men made him forget his religion and have a new one. His life must have been difficult for many years.

This One Summer #3 (Summary&Solution)

After the Historic Heritage Huron Village trip, a couple of consequences happened. Rose and Alice had a small fight about the baby and her dad.

I think the solution to Jenny and Rose''s mom, Alice, is to exchange children. What I mean is,  when Jenny gives birth, she could let Alice adopt her child (See pretty simple). Jenny doesn't want a child, so I don't think she might get an abortion or not.

Tolerance

Definition: The ability or willingness to allow the existence, occurrence, or practice of something, in particular the existence of opinion or behavior that one does not necessary agree with.

I don't judge the way people look or comment about them, only if they tell me a honest question about themselves. I will never do that! Everyone is different! We all have different beliefs, personality, eyes, mouths, noses, hair, and much more. No one will ever look like you (Only if you have a twin, but each are different ) even if its from the inside or out!

This One Summer #2 (Summary& Conflict)

Rose and Windy started noticing changes in the little convenient store. Douglas the clerk (Rose and Windy call him "the Dud") who works in the convenient store has problems with his girlfriend Jenny. Douglas made Jenny pregnant. First, they were both together and having fun and now their fighting over a baby. Douglas cared but he didn't want to do anything about it, he would just ignore her. When Rose and Windy went to a little village, they saw Jenny working there.

The conflict in the book is man vs. society. All the characters in the book had one thing in common, a baby. Alice (Rose's mother), wanted to have a baby, but she couldn't. Her mother and father would always fight. Rose's mother lost her baby(fertilized egg) in the water on the beach. On page 299 it says, "Last year in the water... I was swimming and I felt the baby. Go." It means her child died in the water. Douglas and Jenny had a big argument too. Jenny never wanted a baby and now she is pregnant. Douglas ignored her, but still cared about her and his future.

This One Summer Blog #1 (Summary& Character Analysis)

Every summer Rose and her family of parents go to Awago Beach where she meets her best friend Windy ever since they were very young. This year was different from every other year, Rose's parents fighting and the clerk Douglas and his girlfriend.  With lots of free time Rose and Windy try to get all the details on whats happening to the couples. With Rose's parents she had to get away from whats going on.

I can see that Rose and Windy are really good friends. They have been best summer friends since they were little kids. In the text on page 19 it says, "Windy has been my summer cottage friend since I was five. Her grandma rents a cottage for her and her mom. Windy's one and a half younger than I am." This shows that Rose and Windy have been best friends.

Divergent #8

Where I left off, is when everyone in Dauntless were hypnotized and were forced with the hands of the Erudite leader to murder all the Abnegation civilians. Tris finds out Four is Divergent too. Somehow he is hypnotized, when Eric finds out he is Divergent and was sentenced to kill Tris. Tris figured out a way to stop the hypnotisnm for him and everyone. Tris put a gun on her head and alerted Four to not kill her (Four is afraid of murdering someone who he held dear). Which immediately stopped Four being hypnotized. Next to Tris, the Erudite leader ready to start the simulation. Tris uses her trowing knife and stabbed strait through the arms of the leader. Tris injected the leader with the drug used to command people. Tris forced the Erudite leader to stop the simulation. She saved a numerous amount of people but lost her parents along the way.

Tris changed a lot (I mean ALOT!) in the book. Her personality changed, she made friends, she gotten a lot stronger and became number 1 on the list for the strongest, she even saved a whole fraction from being killed. When the book started, Tris or I can just say Beatrice, she was the shy and quiet one in her family.

Divergent #7

The final simulation comes by when all the Dauntless members are injected with a drug from the Dauntless leaders; that was believed for the simulation assessment. The drug that was injected from everyone was a drug made from the Erudite that controls the human body (which they look like their sleepwalking) to assassinate all the Abnegation. Since Tris is a divergent, the drug that the leaders injected to her did not work. Tris pretends to be like the rest of the Dauntless, all walking with silence not knowing whats going on.
