Anne Frank: The Diary Of A Young Girl

A caring young 14 year girl named Ann Frank who hid from Nazis in Amsterdam, Germany. She hid in an attic for several months that her father, Otto Frank use to work at. He got permission from his boss because everyone trusted and cared for him. His job was to discover new spices to sell. Anne Frank started her book two days after her birthday which was on June 12, 1942. She was stuck with the Van Daan family too, Peter Van Daan branged his cat with him and Ann was upset that she was forced to leave her cat behind. Fritz Pfeffer who later on joins the family alone. Later on, Anne learned that Fritz works at a dentist and was really strict being a jew. Her favorite place to be at was the very top level of the attic, she liked to look out the window to stay out of stress.Everyday she knew that she was going to die but, she knew that she is being stronger every single minute. All of this was Hitlers fault because of his anti-Jewish laws, he became little stronger everyday.

While reading I would spot the Again and Again signpost. Anne would always be talking about how she wants to be a real woman. She would ask her sister Margot when she got her period and how it feels. Anne would even ask her best friend Jacqueline Van Maarsen, how do breasts feels and has she ever kissed a boy. She hates when her family or the Van Daan Family would tell her "your to young" or "your just a child". Eventually, she finally gets her period and tells only her sister, "I'm now a real women". The best part yet, She kisses Peter Van Daan mouth to mouth at their secret attic where they hangout most of the time together! Now, She has become a really real women!

  1. Interesting signpost! I'm glad you spotted this. Now, explain why this is important. What does this signpost help show us about the bigger picture in this book?
