Willow Chance a 12 year old girl, which her adopted parents died in a terrible car crash.  Nowhere to go but living with her Vietnamese friend Mai and her family of 3.  Mai, Mai's mother Pattie, and her brother Quang-ha. Her councilor Dell, talking to her about her life. The family and her move into Dells home.

Willow Chance a super intelligent girl that likes to plant and learn about deceases.  She likes to go to the library, read books and have alone time. She likes to make friends from different cultures.
